The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell tour

Time after time, Cyndi Lauper has spread a fun-spirited vibe through her music. Now that this influential and highly lauded 80s icon is turning 72, Cyndi is bidding farewell to big arena tours. She's not retiring, as she has clarified; and is open to doing some occasional performances. This tour is her final leg, and it is building up excitement in many parts of the U.S.

"Well, I've always wanted to do this. I haven't done this since 1986, so I figured, "You know what? If I'm going out, I'm going out big.” Right now I'm very strong, and I can sing strong. It's not like my songs are really easy, and you have to keep yourself in shape, and blah, blah blah. I'm going to be 72. I don't want to be like 80, with the walker going, "Come on, girls!" I want to be proud of what I'm doing, and I am...But I think that being able to do this tour and bring people together to celebrate not who I was, but who I am now and who we all are now, bring us together and make it happy. And mix art with it, right? Make the people laugh, and maybe make them cry a little."

CYNDI LAUPER

"She's So Unusual". This album title fits Cyndi Lauper to a T. Her vocal range yields so much power that she could belt, squeak, or shrill with ultra-high notes or go low and deep with soulful emotion. She's a multi-faceted gem of an artist. She's so unusual because of her multi-colored and eccentric hair colors, clothing, accessories, and overall sense of style.

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Spotify said that Lauper "helped popularize the image of punk and new wave for America, making it an acceptable part of the pop landscape".

Yet looking beyond that, Cyndi Lauper was an advocate of individuality, and women empowerment -- celebrating the joys of self-expression.

Rolling Stone listed Cyndi Lauper at number 41 on Women Who Rock, aside from also ranking the album "She's So Unusual" as part of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2012.

A Rolling Stone reviewer also described her as "A wild and wonderful skyrocket of a voice ... Lauper's extraordinary pipes connect with the right material, the results sound like the beginning of a whole new golden age."

Cyndi is a two-time Grammy Awardee for Best New Artist in 195, and later in her career, she was awarded as part of the cast recording of "Kinky Boots" for Best Musical Theatre Album.

She's so unusual yet simply remarkable. Her everlasting hit songs are platinum classics that refuses to die. These songs resonate with every generation of listeners. They fill the airwaves and are streamed continuously to give us life soundtracks attached to treasured moments and memories.

You don't have to drive all night. Get tickets here to lock in your seat. Don't miss it!
