The band has 25 years’ worth of excellent rock staples and they’re prepared to shell it all out. Meanwhile, Collective Soul was also at the forefront of the era as they are responsible for hits like “Shine,” “The World I Know,” “Heavy,” and “Deember.” Enjoy the sets of these two lifelong friends. Singers Ed Kowalczyk and Ed Roland met on out 17 years ago when Collective Soul’s parked to Live’s tour bus. Live released their debut album The Death of a Dictionary in 1989. But it wasn’t until the release of their sophomore album Mental Jewelry that they have achieved their phenomenal breakthrough. By the time they dropped their 1994 work, Throwing Copper, the band has ahiceved incredible stardom. The album spawned the number 1 alternative hit, “Selling the Drama,” which also made it into the Billboard Hot 100. Throwing Copper and its follow up album Secret Samadhi are regarded as two of the biggest, most influential alternative rock records of the 90s. Live in turn has sold over twenty million albums.
The band led by singer Ed Roland also gained incredible prominence during the 90s. The band found great success upon releasing their debut album, Hints Allegations and Things Unsaid in 1994, the same year Live released Throwing Copper. The record, which sold over two million copies, spawned the band’s debut single, “Shine,” a gold selling hit that topped the Mainstream Rock chart and soared to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. After this massive success with their debut single, the band continued to conquer the charts, topping the Mainstream Rock charts seven times with subsequent releases.
