This summer a Heavy Metal festival newbie is shaking up the scene and the nation. On July 26th the ‘Summer of Loud Tour’ will be in Bristow at the Jiffy Lube Live to turn up the volume louder.
The festival is debuting with over 20 shows across the nation and with a lineup that’s set to be the heaviest to date. The festival may be new, but it has set the bar very high from the start by bagging the heavy metal’s top bands to co-headline for the duration of its debut tour. The four heavyweight bands co-headlining ‘Summer of Loud Tour’ are Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, I Prevail and Beartooth. Pretty hard to beat with such names as headliners. But, the festival has gone even harder on the choice of the supporting bands. The lineup consists of the ever-brilliant Devil Wears Prada, Amity Affliction, Kingdom of Giants, Dark Divine and Alpha Wolf.
All the way from Australia, the Metalcore band Parkway Drive is known for their energetic and mosh pit madness. Formed in 2003 and have not stopped rocking hard since. Parkway Drive have seven studio albums that have received awards and nominees. During their 20 plus years of career and touring across the globe, they have gained a respectable fanbase across Australia, North America, the United Kingdom and many parts of Europe. Parkway Drive’s top hits include ‘Prey,’ ‘Carrion,’ and ‘Wild Eyes,’ with the most played track ‘Pray’ having over 80 Million plays worldwide.
Formed in 2000, Killswitch Engage is a Metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts. The band has received several awards and achievements in their 25 years of making music and touring the world. Killswitch Enage’s energetic performance resulted in receiving the Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” in 2005 and 2014. The band’s fan favourite hits ‘End of Heartache,’ and ‘As Daylight Dies’ received a gold certificate. Killswitch Engage have released nine albums, with news released in 2025. However, it was their 2002 studio album ‘Alive Or Just Breathing’ that placed them on “The Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of the Decade.”
I Prevail, is one of today’s iconic Metalcore bands from America. The band have been making music and touring for just over a decade since their formation back in 2013. For relevantly short time on the roads, I Prevail has achieved more than expected for a young band. The Hard Rock band has released four studio albums so far and and have been nominated for the Grammy Awards for their 2019 album ‘Trauma’ and single ‘Bow Down,’ I Prevail is known for the modern take on Heavy Metal and Hard Rock by incorporating new infusion elements such as Rap, Alternative and Melodic Hardcore. Their unique take on the popular Heavy genre has gained them a fanbase beyond America and into Australia and Europe.
Founded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Shomo, Beartooth is a Metalcore band from America formed in 2012. At first, Shomo was the only member of the band and performed all the instruments in the studio and recordings, until a four-piece band joined the party. The band soon attracted enough attention and got signed to Red Bull Music in 2013 and still part of the label. Beartooth have since released six studio albums with smashing hits such as ‘The Past is Dead,’ ‘Fed Up,’ and ‘In Between,’ and 2 Million monthly listeners worldwide. The band pride itself in not following the expectations but rather never be silenced and continue to explore raw emotions on their journey.
