With four decades of rocking the metal world, Pantera is undoubtedly one of the most established metal bands to have graced the rock metal scene. Thanks to their anthemic hits, such as "Walk" and "Domination," which have become a staple for most metal rock fans, the band has acquired a devoted following. Established in the early 80s, Pantera started as a glam metal band. Although their initial lighter metal sound earned them little success, the band honed their sound and recruited the lead vocalist Phil Anselmo. Their new heavier sound paved the way to broader recognition, and their 1992 album "Vulgar Display of Power" cemented their long stay as one of the best in the genre. A few more albums later, with 20 million records sold and four Grammy nominations, the band has become an unstoppable force. Even after the death of one of the band's founding members and a few years of hiatus, the band still stood the test of time.
This 2023, the legendary band is embarking on a 20-city tour, much to fans' delight. Joined by touring guitarist Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) and drummer Charlie Benante (Anthrax), original members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown will lead the tour. It was reported that the lineup was approved by the estates of the band's founders Vinnie Paul and Darrell Abbott. This reunion tour came as a pleasant surprise to everyone, as Brown had stated before that he would not be joining a reunion tour if there were any. Fans could only wonder what changed his mind. But whatever it was, fans are not complaining. After all, this concert is something that every metalhead dreams about.
As part of their tour, Pantera will feature Lamb of God as their guest all throughout the trek, which will conclude on September 15 at the Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia. Lamb of God is another heavy metal band fan-favorite that has been trailblazing the metal scene for years. Beginning their career in 1994, they have released 11 studio albums, the most recent being "Omens" (2022). Throughout their career, they've sold over 2 million records, been nominated for many Grammys, performed with Metallica on their World Magnetic Tour, and played at countless music festivals.
These two legendary metal acts are gearing up for one of the year's most anticipated rock shows. Don't miss their final tour performance on Friday, September 15, at the Jiffy Lube Live stage. Pantera and Lamb of God are sure to end the tour with a bang, so don't miss it! To purchase tickets, just click the "Get Tickets" link.
