Jiffy Lube Live
Listen up! These types of events don’t come to Bristow, Virginia often. In fact, you’d have to take a time machine to the 90s to really enjoy an evening with Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees. Now, the group, including Wyclef Jean, is headed to the Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow on Friday, the 23rd of August, 2024. The show is part of The Miseducation Anniversary tour. This event’s going to feature old-school R&B, the kind that was really able to hit home, not some of the diluted stuff you get now! Plus, a touch of reggae and hip-hop. The Jiffy Lube Live is where you want to be on Friday, August 23rd, no doubt!
YG Marley is going to be opening up for his mother and her bandmates, The Fugees. It’s all about keeping it in the family for the Marley dynasty. YG’s seen plenty of success in his own right despite his short career to this point, with songs like “Praise Jah in the Moonlight.” That new school reggae is going to be perfect to get the crowd’s juices flowing.
When was the last time The Fugees were on tour? Even if you don’t know the exact date, you know it was a long time ago. Click the get tickets button because this could very well be the last time that they’re playing live anywhere near Virginia.
There’s no question that The Fugees are one of the most influential bands in R&B. With Lauryn Hill’s personal connection to the Marley’s you could even argue that the band, or at least the members of it, have cemented their place in music history. It’s ironic in so many ways because the band itself was only active for a few years. That was enough time to bring us “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” This is a track that’s been used in movies, and other artists have tried to replicate it. The truth is, to sing this song correctly, you need to have Lauryn Hill’s soulful voice and overall vocal range. That’s just something that doesn’t grow on trees.
This is the Miseducation Anniversary tour, so one of the things that you can expect at this concert in Bristow, Virginia, are plenty of songs from the famed Lauryn Hill album. “Doop Woop” and Hill’s rendition of the classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” are almost a lock on the set list for this event. Apart from YG’s opening performance, the band is also promising to bring in more guests for these shows. This subtle clue probably means that on this Friday night in Virginia, you’ll see a ton of soul and blues emitted from the stage.
We’re talking about some of the most iconic performers in the genre. Just thinking about what this night could be gives fans chills! One of the coolest things about The Fugees is that each member went on to have success in their own right. That speaks to the fact that all of them are true musicians and amazing performers. This is something that’s evidently going to be on display at the Jiffy Lube Live!
The Jiffy Lube Live’s got a place for everyone on this night, metaphorically speaking of course. If you want to treat this event like a music festival, which it might very well be, then maybe the lawn is for you. No offense, but if you’ve been following these cats since the 90s, your best experience could be one of the boxes or the VIP areas. That is where you can chill out and just enjoy the show. As mentioned, there’s a good chance that The Fugees will never be back here! Knowing that this is not the show to go cheap on. Click the get tickets button before they run out.
